Gin on the Rocks

After leaving our B&B host home we headed for the famous rocks/stones of Stonehenge. What a well organised enterprise, buses take you from the info centre to the Henge which is out of sight so all you
can see around the area are fields, mounds (which have significance) and grasses. We downloaded an app which gave you a
run down of the history and how they did things, as well as theories as to why they did them. A special place...

Leaving here we headed for the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery in a small town of Laverstoke. We had seen a show on TV last year, a 4 part one explaining how they found the place and the renos needed to turn it into a working distillery and a tourist destination. We said if we were ever near here we wanted to see it. We were, so we

did. As it turns out after chatting with the onsite electrician who was there for the reno that no one in the UK has seen the show, much to everyone dismay. They appeared jealous that we had. The outstanding feature are the 2 glasshouses, one providing a tropical climate, the other Mediterranean one. In them are grown examples of all the spices and nuts that are part of the secret formulae that makes their gin.
They ask you to smell of the ingredients and rate the ones you like. Based
on your likes a cocktail is mixed that you will enjoy. It worked for us....

Leaving Laverstock we drove to Bournemouth using the M3. Thanks to the SatNav, it works a treat. We are staying in a B&B close to the beach. Walking down to it at
around 6.00pm with the wind blowing we saw people swimming!! A nice beach resort, will explore more tomorrow.
