From Poole to Bath

We had a lovely start to the day after a great night's sleep at the Waves Inn B&B in Bournemouth. A cooked

breakfast was included and Rob made the most of it. Now I must digress here with a funny story. One of our friends who will remain nameless went searching for our blog and put in something like Helen and Rob in the UK and it took her to a swingers site! While having breakfast, Rob decided to do his own search and found out that the Helen and Rob swingers were based in Bournemouth. Val, our lovely host had a great laugh when we explained it all to her. After breaky we drove to the other major jetty in Bournemouth,  the Bournemouth Pier. It was a very large structure with a restaurant, bar and fun park at the end of the pier. We walked along the seafront and saw some very cute bathing sheds. Leaving Bournemouth we drove to the Quay at Poole. We saw the very large harbour that the town is located on and also the many boats that leave on sightseeing tours from this area. We visited the famous Poole pottery shop and also had lunch watching the coming and goings in the harbour. From Poole, we drove to the historical town of Bath. It took about 1&1/2 hours. Bath is an amazing place and straight out of the Jane Austin novels. We visited the Information Centre and found a walk to go on around the town. It was about 5 km but well worth it as it gave us great views of canals, buildings and the whole of Bath. Once we finished our walk we visited a local bar for a beer and cider. After a light dinner we drove back to Melksham to stay with Steve and Ruth (very distant relatives) who had very kindly offered to put us up for the next two
nights.
