On The Buses

Well today has been just amazing. I (Helen) have been in my element. We took a “hop on, hop off” bus around the London area. There are beautiful old buildings everywhere and on top of that many of the streets and buildings have gorgeous planters, pots and hanging baskets full of blooming flowers.
We did spent the first hour or so on the bus just listening to the commentary and looking at the amazing sites around London. The first place we actually got off was Buckingham Palace. We walked the full loop of the boundary of the grounds and took too many photos.
We then hopped back on the bus and went to the Tower of London. We were there till closing time and Rob had to drag me out! After that we caught a river boat on the Thames  and went to the London Eye. While lining up to catch the ferry, we met a couple from Clare (farmers) who were also going to catch the boat. The funny thing was we had met them the day before Gatwick airport. They had caught the same flights as us from Adelaide and we were both using the same transport to get to London. We’d had a really lovely conversation with them in the van but certainly didn’t expect to see them again the next day. An amazing coincidence. The London Eye gave us spectacular views of the Thames and London.
We took too many photos. After this experience we returned to on the bus to the shopping and eating area near our accommodation. We had a lovely dinner in a proper English pub.
It was great fun. We then dragged ourselves back to our apartment.
