Motorway to Manchester

Old Singer sewing machines, Gloucester
After another good nights sleep we went downstairs to be greeted by Tony preparing a lovely breakfast. He was a very interesting man, who was a film maker. He had been all over the world making films and had many beautiful pieces of artwork on display th
at had come from different countries. He also had a most amazing fruit and vegetable garden set up in his tiny backyard. Raised garden beds were full of fruit and vegetable plants. They were arranged in such an artistic way. Tony suggested we visited the Gloucester Quays before leaving the town. Although it was raining, we are glad we did as this gave us another perspective of the canals and boats. Tony had told us that the canals were big enough for large boats and ships to use. He said that the tall ships had used the canals regularly and had made their way to the quays. After leaving Gloucester we headed for our next stop, Manchester. We were back on a motorway for part of this trip which at times we were moving along very fast and at other times very slowly just depending on roadworks and accidents. We arrived at our accommodation and have a lovely room at the top of a 1897 Victorian home. We walked to a Pub close to our accommodation and had a lovely meal. Later in the evening we met Chris, the owner of the house. He is a professor of medicine and a very interesting man. He did some research for me on my great, great Grandfather using Ancestory.com.
