We have been very fortunate with the weather so far on this trip, only experiencing a couple of showers. Today was no exception. We woke to a beautiful sunny day and after a lovely breakfast shared at a large table with our hosts, their 2 sons and 1 of the 3 young chinese girls who were also staying in the house, it was time to leave. Our host had said that our Jeep was by far the best car that had stayed at their residence and both of her young boys thought so too. They wanted a photo of them in the car and Rob happily obliged. After the photo shoot the boys renamed the car "Epic". The house we stayed the night in was on Castle Road and the remains of Kendal Castle were not too far away so we decided to check them out. It was an inspiring walk up a steep hill to reach the ruins but well worth it to take in both the views and the castle. From Kendal we drove to a spot on

Hadrian's Wall that also had the remains of a Fort. We did a tour of part of the wall and checked out the Roman fort. The age of everything here is hard to comprehend. Not far from this area there was a waterfall called Crammel Linn. We walked to the fall and it was worth the walk. No one else was at this place and it was pretty quiet at Hadrian's wall too which makes things nice for us. We then drove on to our next B&B in the town of Stirling so we our now in Scotland! We

investigated an old monastery here and spoke to a young women who told us that the children from the local primary school had been on an excursion nearby to investigate an archeological dig. It was short walk down to the edge of a river and we were able to see where the archeoligists had been working. We found a lovely Italian place for tea (as you do when you're in Scotland) and then drove to our next accommodation. We are in a lovely house (upstairs) and have the whole floor to ourselves. It is very peaceful so we should get a good night's sleep.
